INDIANAPOLIS (November 21, 2017/Coles Marketing) – Managed Health Services (MHS), an Indiana-based health maintenance entity serving Hoosier Healthwise, the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) and Hoosier Care Connect, is pleased to recognize The South Bend Clinic with a national award for providing quality care and clinical excellence to Hoosier children and adults enrolled in MHS’ statewide health plans.
The South Bend Clinic has received a 2016 Summit Award for Excellence in Care from MHS and parent company Centene Corporation. One of two statewide awards this year, it honors the region’s premier independent physician group.
Each year MHS acknowledges physicians or groups of healthcare providers in the state of Indiana who exemplify exceptional performance in regard to Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) scores and quality measures. This year, The South Bend Clinic’s scores were exceptional, and they are given the Summit Award for their dedicated quality efforts by MHS and the MHS Quality Team.
Serving families in the South Bend region for more than 100 years, The South Bend Clinic is more than 100 providers strong and offers everything from primary care to specialized care services, rehabilitation and a wound healing center. It provides affordable, convenient medical care on six different campuses throughout South Bend, Granger and New Carlisle along with staffing offices in Elkhart and Berrien Springs. The South Bend Clinic continues to grow and serve the Michiana community with high-quality, personalized care.
“The South Bend Clinic has provided excellent patient care for our community for more than 100 years,” said Paul Meyer, CEO of The South Bend Clinic. “We pride ourselves in serving a wide segment of the population and value our partnership with MHS in helping us serve those who might not have access otherwise. This Summit Award is a tribute to our physicians and staff who will continue to offer high-quality care to patients who participate in the MHS program. We hope to continue this partnership for many years to come.”
“MHS is proud to recognize The South Bend Clinic for the outstanding service they provide to our members in and around the South Bend community,” said MHS President and CEO Kevin O’Toole. “Our goal at MHS is to provide the highest quality of care and services to our members, which would not be possible without the relationships with our plan’s physicians. With the Summit Award, we thank The South Bend Clinic for their ongoing dedication to helping Hoosier children and families live healthy lives.”
